Bed size is a major price driver in every machine family. Moving from a compact bed to a mid size bed is a real jump, and the largest beds sit at the top of each family. You pay for the footprint, the frame, and the motors.

Bigger beds also cost bench space and weight. A machine that lives on a desk corner has a different size budget than one in a dedicated workshop. Size is a purchase decision, not just a spec.

Why Size Comes Before Power

Product size is a hard limit; speed is a soft limit. A machine can always engrave slower, but it cannot engrave bigger than its bed. That asymmetry is why size decides first.

Whether common products fit typical diode beds flat, without a rotary. Anything round usually needs the rotary or a smaller footprint. Fit depends on exact product dimensions and bed numbers. Measure your own products before buying.

Round products change the equation completely. A tumbler is too tall to engrave flat, so a rotary attachment spins it under the beam. Rotary converts the bed math from two dimensions to three.
